Recognizing The Incredible Work of Houston Children’s Charity
Something we love about working in Houston is the incredible amount of charity work that happens in our city. Partly because we have the largest medical facility in the world, Houston is abundant with charitable organizations. According to Understanding Houston, there are 15,660 nonprofit public charities throughout the three counties that Houston calls home. One of these charities that we are honored to support is the Houston Children’s Charity.
Houston Children’s Charity is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Greater Houston’s underprivileged, abused, and disabled children who have been otherwise left behind. They do incredible work across a spectrum of charitable activities, including:
- Distributing mattresses and other bedding materials to children in need through the A Better Night’s Sleep program
- Providing much needed back to school supplies to over 45,000 children through Back2School
- Giving toys to 20,000 children during its annual holiday toy distribution
Their signature charitable contribution involves a cause near and dear to our hearts. It’s called Chariots for Children, and it provides life-changing assistance to children and families in need.
Chariots for Children
Chariots for Children provides handicap-accessible vans to families of wheelchair-bound children with disabilities. Since 1996, Houston Children’s Charity has awarded 339 vans to agencies and families, altering their lives with much-needed transportation.
We are honored to partner with Houston Children’s Charity in their monumental endeavors. In this photo, you can see our founding partner Tommy Fibich presenting the keys of a new van to Theodore and his family.
Theodore came to Houston because it was the only city equipped to treat his half-sized heart, a condition the family thought was fatal. Words can’t describe the feeling we get when we can help families improve their living situations.

Tommy and DeeDee Fibich Attend Houston Children’s Charity Gala
Firm founding partner Tommy Fibich and his wife DeeDee Fibich recently attended the Houston Children’s Charity’s 27th annual gala.
The children’s charity had a fundraising goal of $5 million, and by the end of the night, they had raised an incredible $6.2 million. The funds will be used to help buy beds and wheelchair-accessible vans for children in need, as well as fund programs that help Houston’s underserved and disabled children. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and NFL Hall of Famer Andre Johnson took the stage, and legendary rock band Chicago performed.
Tommy and DeeDee are honored to support this amazing charity and are thrilled that it exceeded the fundraising goal! Thanks to the Houston Children’s Charity and the Post Oak Hotel for organizing this magnificent event.
