Fatal Bus Crash Kills Members of University of Southwest’s Golf Team
In an unimaginable head-on collision last year, multiple members of the University of Southwest’s golf team were killed. In total six students and the team’s coach lost their lives in the crash.
The bus carrying the golfers was struck head-on by a pickup truck that had crossed into oncoming traffic. The driver of the pickup truck, who was also killed in the accident, was found to have methamphetamine in his system, according to KOAT 7.
Bus Crash Involving 2 Other Vehicles Leaves One Dead
Last month, one person was killed after a motorcycle collided with the back of a school bus turning into the Hooks Junior High School parking lot. KSLA reports that the motorcycle then struck a Ford F350. The motorcycle driver died in the crash.
Church Bus Crash Results in Multiple Injuries
In December 2022, 16 people were injured including 13 children after their bus overturned in northeast Harris County. ABC News states that the crash happened around 12:30 pm on December 11, as the bus was turning near a Houston-area apartment complex.
School Bus Accident Leaves 10 Students Injured
A school bus accident earlier this year left 10 children hospitalized. Reporting by NBCDFW indicates that the Farmersville ISD bus was struck from behind by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The bus was dropping off a student at the time of the accident.
Charter Bus Crash on I-20 Sends 2 to Hospital
A collision between a charter bus and a FedEx truck on I-20 sent two to the hospital. CBS News reports that the accident happened around 3:00 pm on December 9, 2022.
It is believed that the driver of the FedEx truck may have suffered a medical condition causing him to cross over into oncoming traffic. The charter bus was filled with students, parents, and Gunter ISD staff heading to a football game in Abilene, TX.
Cheerleaders Hospitalized After School Bus Rollover
15 people were injured when a school bus carrying cheerleaders from Elkhart ISD rolled over last October. The crash occurred on Highway 294 as the team was heading to a game in Clifton, TX. The bus, as detailed by KXAN, rolled over after entering a curve that had standing water in it.
Houston Charter Bus Accident Injures 20
ABC 7 reports that a charter bus accident carrying baseball players from Spartans Post Grad Academy rolled over injuring at least 20. The rollover occurred outside Houston, TX near a Buc-ee’s gas station.
Shuttle Bus Crash Kills 1, Leaves 2 Seriously Injured
In November 2022, a shuttle bus burst into flames after being hit by an SUV near College Station. The driver of the SUV was killed as a result of the collision. Two A&M seniors were the only passengers on the Santa’s Wonderland bus. Good samaritans helped to pull them and others from the fiery crash, per KBTX.
