Kelley Bogusevic is a trauma-informed, survivor-centered trial lawyer who has dedicated her entire career to representing people harmed by the misconduct of others—with a particular focus on survivors of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and human trafficking.
Clients Know Kelley for Three Things:
- Her deep compassion and ability to listen to survivors’ stories,
- Her meticulous, detail-driven preparation, and
- Her relentless commitment to accountability—especially when powerful institutions fail to protect the vulnerable.
At Fibich, Leebron, Copeland, & Briggs (FLCB), Kelley focuses on complex, high-stakes cases, working closely with survivors and their families from intake through trial. She handles every stage of litigation, including investigating claims, drafting critical motions, deposing key witnesses and corporate representatives, coordinating expert testimony, and arguing important legal issues before the Court. Her goal in every case is the same: to help her clients reclaim power, secure meaningful results, and drive changes that protect others.
Kelley has litigation experience across a wide range of practice areas, but her work most often centers on:
- Sexual assault and sexual abuse cases involving employers, franchisors, rideshare companies, and other entities that failed to protect those in their care.
- Human-trafficking–related and institutional-abuse cases where negligent policies or systemic indifference exposed victims to danger.
- Mass tort and catastrophic injury cases, including her role as a valued member of the trial team representing Bexar County and other Texas counties in the Texas Opioids Multi-District Litigation against drug manufacturers, distributors, and pharmacies.
Before joining FLCB, Kelley honed her skills at The Lanier Law Firm, where she gained extensive experience helping families navigate complex litigation and has helped numerous clients resolve their cases through settlement, mediation, and trial-ready preparation—always ensuring they understand the process, their rights, and their options.
In August 2025, Kelley was featured on FOX 26 to discuss rideshare safety in connection with a Galveston County case where a rideshare passenger was allegedly assaulted by her driver. Drawing from her experience representing survivors in similar cases, she emphasized that rideshare companies must do more to protect their riders and that civil litigation is a critical tool for changing dangerous corporate practices.
Kelley views her work as part of a broader survivor-justice and civil-rights movement: using the civil justice system to expose systemic failures, force institutions to change, and prevent the same harm from happening to others.
Survivor-Centered, Trauma-Informed Practice
Survivors of sexual assault and abuse are navigating not only a legal case, but also trauma, shame, fear, and often disbelief from the very systems meant to protect them. Kelley intentionally structures her practice to be:
- Trauma-informed – She understands how trauma can affect memory, communication, and trust, and she adapts her approach accordingly.
- Survivor-centered – She involves clients in key decisions, explains each step of the process, and never forgets that it is their story and their case.
- Collaborative with support networks – When appropriate, she works alongside therapists and advocates to ensure that litigation supports, rather than undermines, a survivor’s healing.
