According to multiple sources, a massive explosion at the INEOS chemical site located in Pasadena, Texas has injured at least one person. According to reports the injured person was a third-party truck driver delivering chemicals to the site. The incident is being referred to as a BLEVE explosion by local authorities. ‘BLEVE Explosion’ at INEOS Plant in Pasadena
At least one person has been injured in what is being described as a BLEVE explosion at the INEOS chemical site located in Pasadena, Texas. ABC 13 is reporting that the incident occurred after a tanker that was transporting petroleum liquid gas to a storage tank at the time the explosion occurred. It was unclear what went wrong, but the vapor from the gas is highly flammable.
A large fire broke out at the chemical plant before being extinguished by the Pasadena Fire Department working in conjunction with the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office Hazardous Materials team. The explosion occurred at approximately 12:07 pm and was captured by Houston TranStar cameras.
